Marketing Communications Internship

Facilities & Services, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, seeks to fill a part-time student intern position. The Customer Relations & Communications (CRC) department coordinates an employee newsletter, all employee messages, material review and editing, presentations, media relations, as well as marketing and advertising. CRC offers interns the unique opportunity to work with internal customers to provide marketing solutions targeted at students, faculty and staff. This internship provides students the opportunity to meet the challenging marketing needs of a complex organization providing a wide-range of services to the entire campus community. This internship does not offer monetary compensation, but has the potential to become a paid position.

Requirements

A successful applicant must be team player who enjoys working with people and feels comfortable working in a creative and fast-paced environment. The internship requires the ability to think and work both independently and as a part of a team. Selected interns will gain experience in developing marketing plans and campaigns designed to promote, advertise and create awareness of campus services and programs. The schedule for this internship is flexible during the operating hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., M-F but does require a commitment of 8-12 hours per week.

Skills

The ideal candidate for this internship is creative, imaginative and will take pride in finding creative solutions, working hard, and being challenged. A basic knowledge of computer applications in a PC environment is needed and experience in layout/design using the Adobe Creative Suite is beneficial.
