UI-7 is dedicated to providing hands-on experience for Illinois students interested in media. Each year UI-7 hires several student video interns and production assistants. At this time, UI-7 is not accepting applications; please check back in October

    UI-7 Student Video Interns:

  • Use professional video cameras to shoot events and interviews in full HD video
  • Edit on Final Cut Pro 7 to produce original content highlighting life at Illinois to air on UI-7
  • Are allowed creative freedom to develop their own special video features
  • Work with the Coordinator on special marketing projects to get students involved with UI-7
  • Assist with social media
  • Assist other student interns on shoots
  • Represent UI-7 at events such as Quad Day
  • Work an average of 10 hours a week making $8.25/hour

    UI-7 Production Assistants

  • Work on special projects for UI-7 Productions, the video-for-hire unit of UI-7
  • Shoot events and interviews using professional video cameras utilizing full HD video
  • Work with the Head of Productions to cover shoots as requested by clients
  • Work flexible hours, averaging 10-20 a month making $10/hour

All UI-7 student employees are expected to have previous experience shooting on semi-professional cameras before being considered for an internship.
